CinemaKC Planet Comicon Premiere Filmmaker Wins Honors with Fan-Made Halo Infinite Commercial

Nick Young and Cairn Productions’ crew of volunteers

Nicholas ‘Nick’ Young, the filmmaker who premiered W.W.C.B (What We Can Be) at the August, 2022, CinemaKC Planet Comicon KC screening, has gone on to create a fan-made Halo Infinite Commercial that is gaining notice and honors.

The occasion was the release of Halo Infinite MP, newest entry into the world of John Halo. Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is, for the first time in the series, free-to-play, and was released simultaneously on Xbox platforms and PC, via both the Xbox App and Steam. It also came out nearly a month before the game’s campaign. These are important changes as the series moves forward — acknowledgements that the old system of console exclusives and big-budget sequels isn’t how multiplayer games prosper anymore.

Nick’ company, Cairn Productions, enlisted a crew of friends and volunteers to create their fan-made video as a late fall lark but have seen it hit over 50,000 likes, 40,000 views, and a slot on ESPN.

CinemaKC congratulates Nick, Cairn Productions, and crew.
