Batman V Superman may have offered a glimpse of this year’s blockbuster season, but the real show hasn’t even started: in two weeks, Disney’s live-action “re-imagining” of The Jungle Book swoops into theaters. And judging by the trailer, this all-star, state-of-the-art update of the fondly remembered Vietnam-era hit is going to be big: an all-star, state-of-the-art extravaganza.

To celebrate its release, AMC has teamed with IMAX and Oculus to create Through Mowgli’s Eyes. Described as a “real-time rendered VR experience,” the attraction is currently on a twelve-city tour and will swing through Kansas City this weekend at the AMC Studio 30 in Olathe.

Depending on what exactly what a “real-time rendered VR experience” is, this could be a big leap in moviegoing. Is it the premise of The Purple Rose of Cairo made real? Or is the border between movies and video games about to be forever blurred? Stop by the AMC Studio 30 for a peek at the future.

The Jungle Book is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong’o, Scarlett Johansson, Christopher Walken, and Neel Sethi as Mogwai. It opens April 15th.
