SUMMARY:CINEMA KC PRESENTS "GANGLAND WIRE" AT SCREENLAND CROWN CENTER
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nCinema KC presents “Gangland Wire”\, Gary Jenkins just released third feature length documentary film. The film documents the rise and fall of Kansas City’s River Quay district\, the investigation of which exposed Mafia influence over the Teamsters International Union and Las Vegas casinos. During his tenure with the Kansas City\, Missouri Police Department\, Gary was assigned to this  investigation from 1978-1980. \nRetired Intelligence Unit detective Gary Jenkins found audio tapes labeled “Strawman” deep in the bowels of a government archive. He discovered the voices of KC mob boss Nick Civella\, underboss Carl “Tuffy” DeLuna\, Chicago mob captain Joseph “Joey the Clown” Lombardo\, among others. These tapes tell how the Midwest La Cosa Nostra Families lost control of Las Vegas casinos. \nGangland Wire\, using first hand witnesses\, tells the real story behind the fictional story told in the popular film\, Casino. A dispute over parking rights in Kansas City’s River Quay entertainment district led the F.B.I. and the Kansas City Police Intelligence Unit down a path of dead bodies and bombed buildings. At the end of theis path\, investigators found evidence leading ot the convictions of La Cosa Nostra boses in Milwaukee\, Chicago\, Cleveland and Kansas City. The Strawman tapes tell this story. \n– See more at: http://ganglandwire.com/about/#sthash.5ojbd6wo.dpuf
