Two Local Filmmakers Featured On The May 7 Episode of CinemaKC TV

As many of you know, CinemaKC broadcasts every Saturday night at 9:30pm on KSMO-TV 62. This Saturday, May 7th, the work of local filmmakers Jerry Rapp and Jennifer Greenstreet will be featured.

Rapp is a screenwriter, producer, director and actor. In this segment, CinemaKC will feature his award-winning short film, “Salut” as well as Greenstreet’s “Barren.”

Since graduating from the USC School of Cinema/Television, Rapp has been working as a professional screenwriter, director and producer.

Rapp’s first screenplay, “On The Air,” was acquired by Imagine Entertainment, and led to a number of other script sales, including a second picture for Imagine, “Tourists,” “Wishing” for Paramount, “Foster’s Kids” for Universal, “Guilty of Suspicion” and “Richie Rich Goes Public” for Harvey Entertainment. He also wrote and produced the feature film, “Sand Trap.”

Rapp’s feature film, “Mojave Phone Booth,” played 52 festivals and garnered 16 awards. It is currently available on DVD. His recent short film, “Tender,” debuted at the Chicago International Film Festival and was recently screened in the Kansas City FilmFest 2011. In addition, Rapp works as a full-time script doctor and ghost writer, and has worked on and/or revised well over a hundred screenplays for studios and individuals.

Greenstreet, director of “Just Like You Films,” is a former Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Jackson County and a former professor for William Jewell College. Greenstreet directed “Barren,” a short film about a woman’s desperate desire for a child to call her own. “Barren,” was an Official Selection of the 2011 Los Angeles International Film Festival, Tall Grass Film Festival and Kansas City Urban Film Festival.

The film stars Michelle Davidson (Lucky), Cari Mohr (Up In the Air), Jennifer Plas (Empty Acre) and Shannon Knopke (All Roads Lead Home). The film was written and executive produced by Michelle Davidson. The director of photography and producer is Shaun Cloud with SC Motion and Stills. Andy Crow edited the film and Ben Anderson did sound design and original score, both work at Metro Productions.

The show will not air May 14 or May 21. The show will resume airing on May 27th, featuring well-known animator extraordinaire Bruce Branit’s work.
