CinemaKC Presents the Premiere of Blue Heaven: Film by Johnny Dailey Explores New Drug

KANSAS CITY, MO. – CinemaKC presents the premiere showing of Blue Heaven at 7:30p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the Screenland Armour Theatre.

 

Blue Heaven is the street name for the drug mixicondioxidose, a sedative that allows its users to escape reality for a dangerous amount of time. Three people come into contact with the drug in different ways, yet use it for similar purposes.

 

The film Blue Heaven is the second work from area director Johnny Dailey and stars Davis DeRock, Doug Dowell, Johanna Brooks, Frank Portillo, Chris Bylsma, Jennifer DeRock, and Marilyn Hall.

 

Tickets for the Thursday, February 26 premiere are $7.50 and can be purchased at the Screenland Armour website, http://screenland.com/blueheaven/ The Screenland Armour Theater is located at 408 N. Armour Rd., North Kansas City, Mo.

 

There will be a Q&A with the filmmaker and cast after the screening.

 

CinemaKC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to promoting area films and filmmakers. It produces CinemaKC, a weekly showcase of local talent airing on KCPT-TV and “CinemaKC Noteworthy” is featured weekly on Bridge TV on KCPT-TV.

    Will there be another chance to see the film, (since we don’t drive at night and live an hour away)?

PATRICIA HAMARSTROM WILLIAMS, M.F.A., Ph.D.abd is storyteller with international film and theatre directing and new media credits. Her film credits include “A Tomb for Boris Davidovich”, “A Long Day’s Journey Into Night”, “Othello”, and “Tiger Dance”; work at Cinecitta and for Universal Studios. She has also directed at major theatres, including Lincoln Center, American Repertory Theatre, Missouri (now Kansas City) Repertory Theatre, national Shakespeare Festivals, and the National Theatre of Serbia.

Hamarstrom Williams has served as Executive Director of both the Kansas City Film Festival and the KAN Film Festival. She is Vice President of the Board of CinemaKC, having joined in 2014.
